Dr. Rudolf Grimm, worldwide proteomics market development manager - Rudi Grimm received his Ph.D. in Biology at the University of Munich. After completing a post-doc at the University of Freiburg/Germany and the Riken Institute in Tokyo/Japan he joined Hewlett-Packard as a senior life science application chemist in 1991. In 1998 he left the company and became the head of protein chemistry at the Munich based proteomics company Toplab. In June 1999 he joined Hexal Pharma to establish the biotech laboratories for recombinant protein drug development. In September 2002 he rejoined Agilent Technologies as the worldwide proteomics and metabolomics market development manager. He is author of more than 100 scientific publications.

Toshifumi Matsuzaki, ICP-MS Business Manager - Toshifumi Matsuzaki has been involved with ICP-MS since 1985 with Yokogawa Electric Corporation and Yokogawa Analytical Systems, Tokyo, Japan. He joined Yokogawa as an R&D design engineer in 1985. He was in charge of various parts of product development including ion detection systems, quad driver and WorkStation software in R&D. He served as an R&D project manager for the 7500 Series ICP-MS. In 2003 he took the manufacturing manager's position, and became R&D manager in 2005. Matsuzaki-san is currently responsible for Agilent ICP-MS business in general. He is a graduate of Tokyo University of Science with a BS in physics.

Toshiaki Matsuda, ICP-MS Product Marketing Manager - Toshiaki Matsuda is currently responsible for worldwide product marketing of ICP-MS products for Agilent Technologies Chemical Analysis Solutions Unit. He has been involved with ICP-MS since the development of 4500 Series of ICP-MS was started in 1990 in Yokogawa Electric Corporation. He joined Yokogawa in 1977 as a marketing engineer in the Corporate Marketing Department for the new business and moved to the Analytical Scientific Division in 1981 and was in charge of Ion Chromatograph business and expanded his responsibility to cover HPLC business when Yokogawa started the analytical business with Hewlett-Packard(HP) in 1984. He moved to Yokogawa Analytical Systems (YAN) in 1992 when it was established as the joint venture company between HP and Yokogawa. Agilent Technologies was separated from HP and started in 1999. YAN became a fully owned company of Agilent Technologies in February 2006.

Don Potter, ICP-MS Programs Manager, Americas and Europe - Don Potter has been involved with ICP-MS continuously since 1984 where he used a VG ICP-MS at British Nuclear Fuels in the UK. He joined VG Elemental (UK) as an Applications chemist in 1988 and in 1993 he joined HP/Agilent in the US. He has since relocated to the UK and is currently responsible for Agilent’s ICP-MS Programs in Europe and the Americas. He is a graduate and member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK) and is a Chartered Chemist. Don’s interests are in the development of ICP-MS technology for new applications.

Steve Wilbur, Senior Applications Chemist, ICP-MS Systems - Steve Wilbur is currently responsible for worldwide environmental marketing of ICP-MS products for Agilent Technologies Chemical Analysis Solutions Unit. Among his duties are the establishment and maintenance of research collaborations within academia, industry, and government to develop new applications for ICP-MS. Steve has been involved with ICP-MS at Agilent since the introduction of the HP 4500 ICP-MS in 1995. During that time, he has been instrumental in hardware, software and applications development. His accomplishments include development of the ICP-MS EnviroQuant software and the Integrated Sample Introduction System (ISIS) as well as contributions to the Intelligent Sequencing Software and GC interface. Steve’s primary interests lie in hyphenated ICP-MS techniques for elemental and molecular speciation.
