Master of Science

Graduate students may earn a Master of Science (MS) degree in chemistry by completing a thesis or non-thesis program. The thesis option includes the completion and oral defense of an original research problem along with satisfactory completion of about six graduate courses. The non-thesis option requires satisfactory completion of about 15 graduate courses. These programs periodically undergo revision, and the course requirements are apt to change in the future.
Generally students in the MS program do not receive financial assistance from the Department, and therefore these students need to find other resources to pay tuition.
