 Thank you for your interest in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Cincinnati.

To apply for the MS or PhD programs in Chemistry at the University of Cincinnati:
***Note: The department does not offer teaching assistantships to any students applying for the Masters degree in chemistry - only those students applying for the PhD program will be considered for teaching assistantships.
University/Department code for GRE and TOEFL scores: 1833
- Fill out the on-line application form found at the UC Graduate School website http://www.grad.uc.edu/content/gradapp.cfm
- Send the following additional information directly to the Department of Chemistry at the mailing address shown on the bottom of the page:
- official transcripts of all colleges/universities attended
- three letters of recommendation (sent directly from source)
(download recommendation form [.pdf file])
- official copy of GRE General Test score*
- personal statement of research interests (including area of proposed study such as organic, physical, etc.) and reason for wanting to attend the University of Cincinnati
- official TOEFL score (international students only) Note: The University's minimum requirement MUST be met (Paper based: 520; Computer based: 190; Internet based: 68)
- Test of Spoken English (TSE) (international students only) is NOT required but if a score greater than 50 is presented would be very helpful.
*Applicants who have taken few college-level chemistry-related courses also are encouraged to submit their GRE Chemistry Test score.
Note: your application will not be evaluated until all materials have been received and the application fee has been paid.
Deadline for receipt of materials: The Department of Chemistry begins reviewing completed applications in early December. All complete applications received before February 14 annually will receive full consideration. Late applications (received after February 14) will be evaluated if openings are available, and no applications will be considered for Fall admission after July 1. There are no Spring admissions.
