For Educators
Teacher education and development is an area of increasing interest in the Department. Professor Jon Breiner has developed an introductory chemistry course aimed at students working toward teaching certification at the K-8 levels (see CHEM 107/8). This course will help to increase the understanding and appreciation of chemistry in the elementary and middle schools in Cincinnati.
The continuing education of teachers is being addressed with the development of a Masters of Teaching Science program. Professor Allan Pinhas is the current Director of this new program, and more information can be found at the Masters of Teaching Science website.
